Recfishwest is pleased to welcome two new elected members to the Recfishwest Board following our 2024 Annual General Meeting in November.
Terry Goodlich is a well-known figure in WA’s freshwater and trout fishing community, serving as Vice President of the Australian Trout Foundation (WA Branch) and a founding member of the Western Australian Trout and Freshwater Angling Association (WATFAA) for over 50 years.
A keen boat fisher on the South Coast and Capes, he has been actively involved with the Mangles Bay Fishing Club and Recfishwest for over a decade. With 30 years at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, Terry brings extensive experience in marine and terrestrial park management, research collaboration, and community engagement.
Audrey Leonard is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has a deep passion for aquatic environments, having fished, snorkelled, and dived across Australia and internationally.
With over 20 years in risk, compliance, and exploration management roles at Woodside Energy, she offers valuable insights into governance, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable fishing practices.
Her expertise adds a unique perspective to the Recfishwest Board, supporting a long-term vision for a thriving recreational fishing future.
Making way for the new Board members, Recfishwest farewells outgoing Board members Ian Sampson and Simon McLernon, who between them have contributed more than 11 years serving on the Recfishwest Board.
Recfishwest CEO Dr Andrew Rowland said, “Terry and Audrey’s election to the Recfishwest Board will strengthen the breadth of experience and strategic direction the Board provides – we congratulate them and look forward to working with them for the benefit of our members, the cast of 750,000 WA anglers and WA fishing as a whole.
“I would also like to offer a huge vote of thanks for Ian and Simon for their valuable contributions to the Recfishwest Board over the last few years and their service to fishing. We wish them all the best for the future.”
