Research

Recfishwest partners with research providers, government agencies and other not-for-profit organisations to ensure that appropriate research and data collection is undertaken that will benefit recreational fishing and the environment we fish in.
Our research team play a key role in the administration of the Recreational Fishing Initiatives Fund (RFIF), where the majority of WA’s recreational fishing research is funded from.
Although we don’t work out of a laboratory or have the resources to be out in the field everyday, our qualified research team are doing great things to enhance recreational fishing in Western Australia.
We believe research shouldn’t be carried out just for research sake. Our team have all grown up fishing, and live and breathe what the do, so applying meaningful science that benefits the recreational fishing sector is our commitment.
