Recfishwest’s Facebook is back after being caught up in spate of page bans

Recfishwest’s Facebook page has been restored after it was unfortunately caught up in the Facebook vs Federal Government media stoush and was blocked last week.

The US social media giant’s algorithm designed to block Australian users from posting and accessing news content went wider than intended and impacted on a lot of not-for-profit organisations like ours.

We contacted Facebook representatives directly in a bid to ensure our page was restored as soon as possible, which it now is.

While our Facebook was down, it remained business as usual across our other communication channels, including:

  • Through other fishing Facebook groups;
  • Here on our website;
  • Through our exclusive Members First and free to monthly Broadcast e-newsletters;
  • Instagram;
  • YouTube;
  • LinkedIn;
  • Twitter.

If you aren’t a Recfishwest member, sign-up here to become a FREE or exclusive member and receive the exclusive content.
