Buy local: Support the WA recfishing tackle and charter industries

There’s never been a better time to get out there and go fishing so long as you adhere to social distancing guidelines and with the easing of the restrictions now’s a great opportunity to help boost the tackle industry and local businesses that benefit from the $2.4 billion that recfishers spend on fishing every year.

WA tackle and charter industries have been doing it tough recently and it was great to see State Government restrictions eased on Friday allowing Charter operators to get back on the water with a 10-person limit applying to each vessel with appropriate social distancing.

While many local tackle stores have been innovating and finding ways to look after their customers and the community, the easing of the restrictions have been welcomed by many.

Just like you, we are looking forward to being back on the water for a much-needed break knowing the positive effects fishing can have on one’s mental health and well-being.

While we’re not out of the woods yet, it was great to see the fishing community maintaining social distancing and practising common sense over the weekend at local ramps and jetties.
