Communications Coordinator

Be part of a team that makes a difference for thousands of WA fishers every day

-Join a team driven by a passion for fishing and doing work that matters

-Use your strong interest in fishing and professional communication skills to deliver great fishing experiences for WA fishers

-Make your mark in a dynamic, can-do, fast-paced work environment where every day is different!

About us

At Recfishwest, we represent the cast of more than 750,000 West Australian recreational fishers and work every day to make fishing better for everyone who loves to wet a line. As WA’s peak fishing body, we’re a not-for-profit with a clear purpose – to protect, promote and create great fishing experiences as a core part of the great West Aussie lifestyle.

We’re a small, dynamic and driven team that punches well above our weight, delivering real outcomes through quality communication, strong partnerships and hands-on projects. From shaping fisheries policy to championing fishers’ interests to building habitat, improving fishing safety and backing community programs, we get things done.

Everything we do is about the bigger picture – healthy fish stocks, thriving environments and accessible, enjoyable fishing for all West Australians, now and into the future. If you’re someone who loves fishing, wants to make a difference and be part of a can-do team, you’ll fit right in.

The role

Working closely with the Communications Lead, you will take a leading role in coordinating and delivering Recfishwest’s day-to-day communications across digital channels and external publications.

A strong knowledge of and passion for fishing is essential. You’ll feel at home if you actively follow the issues, trends and conversations shaping WA’s recreational fishing community.

We’re looking for a communications professional with a strong work ethic, a proactive mindset and a genuine “get it done” attitude.

You’ll be a team player who can also work independently, take ownership and keep things moving. This is a fast-paced role, so you’ll need to be adaptable, comfortable switching priorities quickly and confident handling whatever comes your way.

We value people who think critically, ask questions and contribute ideas, but who can also align behind decisions and deliver.

It’s a lively, engaged and down-to-earth team environment. If you’re someone who brings energy, initiative and isn’t afraid to speak up, you’ll fit right in.
