2025 Salmon Photo Competition (16yrs/under)
To celebrate the return of the Awesome Autumn of Salmon, we’re giving away some cracking prizes to the top 10 salmon snaps from fishers aged 16yrs/under this year!
Open to any fishers aged 16/under and running from 1 March until 31 May, there are some great prizes up for grabs which includes new fishing reels, lures, tackle packs and more!
HOW TO ENTER:
1) Simply catch a salmon on one of our picturesque South-West or Southern beaches this Autumn;
2) Take a photo with the salmon on the beach while it’s still alive that reflects our responsible fish handling practices (fish held horizontally, hand supporting belly or tail, no fingers in eyes/gills);
3) Privately message the Recfishwest Instagram or Recfishwest Facebook page with your salmon photos along with the fishers’ name and age, beach location, mobile number, and home address so we can contact the winners and mail out prizes!
Hot tip: Photos on the beach that respect the fish just like 6-year-old twins Hailey and Zoe Hordyk in the snap below are in with a good shot of a prize!
Where can I loan a lifejacket for free?
If you are going to be fishing off the rocks – you’ll need a lifejacket to stay safe.
Don’t have one? All of the tackle stores and locations below will loan you one for free, so pay them a visit!
It’s also a wise move to fish where there are rock anchor bolts or angel rings nearby as detailed on the map as this will bolster your safety even further.
