Where do you want the north metro artificial reef to go?

It is the final chance to have your say on where you think the new north metropolitan artificial reef should go!

Perth fishers are set to enjoy a new artificial reef, which was announced as part of the the Recreational Fishing Initiatives Fund’s latest round.

In making sure the project provides fishers with a reef that they want and value, community consultation with fishing clubs and other stakeholders, which aims to deliver the greatest value to the people, will be conducted across the month of August.

The final location and design of the reef will impact on the type of fishing experiences the reef will provide.

The incoming artificial reef may deliver new pelagic fishing opportunities for species such as mackerel, Samson fish and yellowtail kingfish or it may result in more of a demersal focus where we’ll likely see many iconic species such as pink snapper or baldchin goper.

How can I have my say?

For the month of August, community consultation will be undertaken with interested clubs to help understand community expectations, aspirations and preferred broad reef locations. This will be done in the form of online surveys and information nights:
