Recfishwest backs in Get Reel Two Rocks fishing competition with fantastic fishing prizes for nearshore species!

Recfishwest is excited to be backing the Get Reel Two Rocks fishing comp on 10th of May — a fantastic celebration of community, family fun and, of course, fishing in the northern suburbs!

We’ll be on the ground handing out Recfishwest merch, having a yarn about all things fishing, and joining in the festivities.

We’re also proud to sponsor some great fishing prize packs for the boat fishing section targeting nearshore favourites like skippy, herring and whiting — giving small boat fishers even more reason to get amongst it.

Plus, with land-based and junior prizes up for grabs, there’s something for everyone.

The Get Reel fishing competition has some cracking prizes for nearshore species such as herring, whiting and skippy as seen here with this metro stonker caught by Marco Fraschetti!

Recfishwest CEO Dr Andrew Rowland said he was pleased for Recfishwest to be getting on board with the popular fishing event.

“The popularity of Get Reel shows the fantastic and accessible fishing locations on offer in the northern suburbs both from the shore and out from the boat ramps,” said Andrew. “Fishing truly is ingrained into the lifestyle of the region and we’re excited to be part of this great community celebration of fishing in the northern metro area.”

Event organiser Ryan Clune said, “Local people love their fishing, and we want to make Get Reel a real highlight on the community calendar. Having Recfishwest on board is a great boost towards that goal.”
