More than 400 young anglers participated in the annual Kids’ Whiting Competition in Kalbarri during the October school holidays.
The popular event is run by the Kalbarri Offshore and Angling Club, with support from local sponsors, over two days each year.
Youngsters aged from 3-14 each received a tackle box and whiting rig when they registered, to help get them started on the Murchison River.
The health of the system is in no doubt and the species caught included whiting, bream, mulloway, blowies, mullet, crabs, skippy, flathead, moses perch, cod, tailor, stripeys and more.
Prizes were awarded for many categories, including biggest and smallest whiting, smallest blowie, and most unusual species.
This year, Laurie and the crew took some amazing shots of the kids in action from their drone and the footage can be seen below.
